SEAMi was first established in 1997, starting out from several founding A/E firms and key structural engineers in the state of Michigan. SEAMi is a member organization of the National Council of Structural Engineers Association (NCSEA). SEAMi’s objectives are 1) to provide a forum for structural engineers to exchange ideas and experiences. 2) To provide guidance towards the development of professional standards and design guidelines. 3) To provide a resource for technical matters concerning codes and specifications. 4) To develop a unified voice for all structural engineers in matters of minimum design requirements and safety for the public.
