As engineering professionals, we are great problem solvers with technical skills and toolsets to find solutions to any type of problem.  However, when it comes to improving a business, knowing what makes or breaks a decision by the top management and executive decision-makers is the key to align our solutions with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.  Furthermore, implementing these new and innovative solutions require project management talent coupled with interpersonal skills, that is mastering the art and the science required to do change management!  Obtaining a Project Management Professional credential proves the competency needed to function as a manager in businesses; however, for a PMP to be most effective, a Project Management Office is the department that would provide directions aligned with the organization’s strategies.

Harri Emari is a civil and environmental engineer with extensive work experience on over 25 large-scale projects from design and engineering to construction and facility management. On February 16th he will present his journey on achieving his PMP as a Civil Engineer to manage construction projects and use his recent success in developing a Construction Quality Management Program for two DTE Energy projects.  Dr. Emari will elaborate on his newly developed methodology called “Quality Project Management Office” and how it could be applied in any organization to achieve desired project outputs and improve business outcomes.

Continuing education certificates will be made available.
